Press Release: October 18th 2011
Sandman Music Agency Takes Over the Room Formerly Known as “The Annex” MADISON WI-- Sandman Music Agency (SMA) is now the exclusive booking agent for the music room located inside Regent Street Retreat (RSR). Sandman Music Agency LLC, owned by Michael Alexander and Johanna Meier, has joined forces with RSR owner, Bruce Gerhartz . This collaboration is part of an ongoing effort to widen the scope of the Madison music scene by bringing in a more diverse line up of bands. Sandman Music plans to reach out to the student population and local community to solicit feedback. Michael Alexander, front man for the band, SAND, has been a long time music advocate for local musicians. He has handled booking for The Club Tavern since 2004 and in 2009, Sandman Music Agency LLC was established. Alexander and Meier have since added JB’s, Cardinal’s Nest, Branch Street Retreat and Legends Sports Bar & Grill as exclusive venues. Sandman Music Agency, based in Madison, WI, works with a variety of performers in the Midwest. Alexander says, “Madison has been and continues to be one of the top city’s in the country for live music. This room is a great room in the heart of this city. We plan to build and expand upon what is the longstanding tradition of great music coming from the heart of this great city.” Instead of guessing what people want, we’ll ask them point blank and give it to them.” stated Meier. “We’ll be reaching out to the students as well as the entire community by soliciting feedback pertaining to “What’s Hot” and “What’s Not” so we can provide patrons with a variety of music genres.” The grand opening for RSR stage will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Festivities will include music by The Pimps and SAND, two Madison favorites! Doors open at 7:00 PM. Show starts at 8:00 PM. A $5.00 cover will be charged for this event. |
